Hosted by Philanthropy Massachusetts, Philanthropy 101 is a five-module, virtual, interactive cohort series that helps staff new to philanthropy gain a better understanding of the sector.

Throughout this course, participants will gain a historical overview of philanthropy, learn the issues surrounding a foundation’s leadership and governance structures, gain insight into grantmaking approaches and philosophies, and engage with nonprofit leaders learning from their direct experiences, all while understanding their role and influence as a funder. Equity and inclusion are woven throughout the course.
Modules will run from October through early December, all held virtually. Each module builds on the previous one and themes are connected throughout the series. Participants are expected to attend the entire series.
Philanthropy Massachusetts has extended its member pricing for this series to GCRI members! For more details about pricing, schedule, content, and presenters, click here.
