Rapid Response Grantmaking

In the current political and social environment, funders are increasingly recognizing the necessity of incorporating flexibility and responsiveness into their grantmaking structure.

While long-term grantmaking is important to enable nonprofits to fully implement programs and initiatives in a sustainable way, funders whose grantmaking structures do not allow for quick decision making, and occasional pivots in priorities, may find themselves hamstrung and unable to support their priority programs and community partners when public, private or natural crises arise.

Join us as we learn about some local and national initiatives to facilitate rapid response grantmaking, and then discuss upcoming challenges facing the Rhode Island nonprofit and human services sectors.

We will be hearing from Allie Larson, from the Greater Twin Cities United Way about the statewide initiative, Solidarity Minnesota, as well as Alexandra Lancey and Trina Jackson, from Third Sector New England, who will be sharing about the Urgent Response Initiative.
